Iran to Become Self-Sufficient in Aluminum Foil Production
Iran will be self-sufficient in producing aluminum foils when the 'Aluminum-1000 Industrial Firm' becomes operational in the near future, reported the Iranian News Agency (IRNA).
The firm's managing director, Ahmad-Reza Haqshenas, said that a contract for establishing of the 370-million-dollar-plant has been signed recently by the Development Investing Company of Kerman province and a foreign firm.
Haqshenas said installation of the necessary equipment and machinery would cost 68 million dollars.
He said the project is expected to take 28 months to complete.
He added that 500 to 1,000 people would be employed once the plant comes on stream.
The director put the annual production capacity of the plant at 35,000 tons, 30 percent of which would be exported.
Around 13,000 tons of aluminum sheets are annually produced in Iran -- Albawaba.com
