Iran to give fierce response to Israeli military action
Iran's Majlis Speaker Gholam-Ali Haddad-Adel said on Thursday that Iran would not hesitate to give a fierce response to any military action against the country. It is unlikely the "Tel Aviv regime" would take a "stupid" action with a military provocation on Iran, Haddad-Adel told reporters on Thursday in response to a question on the Israeli stance vis-a-vis Iran's nuclear program.
"Israeli opposition to Iran's nuclear program is a pretext. The Zionist regime is against the Islamic vigilance and regards Iran as the center of this awareness," he added, according to Reuters. According to him, the "peaceful aims" of Iran's nuclear program have been proved.
He also expressed his condolences over the death of of Hizbullah deputy leader Imad Moughniyah, who was assassinated on Tuesday night in a car bombing in Damascus, Syria. Iran claims the assassination was carried out by "Israeli state terrorism." Haddad-Adel noted that such moves would not affect determination of the Lebanese nation on defense for its rights and stated that world nations are "well aware of devil nature of the Israeli occupation regime."
