Iran to Import Wheat from Pakistan
Iran will likely purchase 500.000 tons of Pakistani wheat in accordance with an initial agreement reached between the two Muslim countries, the Pakistani daily Frontier Post wrote on Friday, quoted by Iran Daily.
"An Iranian Embassy official in Islamabad on Thursday conferred with Pakistani Agriculture Ministry official on the manner of sending wheat to Iran," Frontier Post was quoted as reporting.
According to the report, Pakistan has proposed to sell each ton of wheat for $160 while Iran was bargaining for a lower price, though press reports say the agreement is likely to be finalized.
