Iran: Saddam should be tried as '\'war criminal'\'
Iran expressed on Sunday its opposition to the US decision to give former Iraqi President Saddam Hussein "prisoner of war" status, the foreign ministry spokesman told reporters in Tehran.
Hamid-Reza Asefi said, "Saddam [Hussein] should be tried as a war criminal according to the four Geneva Conventions and, as far as Iran is concerned, the criminal status of Saddam will never change." (Albawaba.com)
