Iran Scraps Short-Term Visas for Gulf State Nationals
The Iranian government has decided not to impose visas on nationals of Gulf Arab states for visits of less than three months, Tehran radio said Monday.
The move, the first of its kind taken by Tehran towards its neighbors, was decided during a cabinet meeting chaired by President Mohammad Khatami late Tuesday.
It is aimed at "encouraging visits to Iran by citizens of neighboring countries in the Persian Gulf," the radio said.
