Iran, Turkey Discuss Expansion of Bilateral Trade Ties
An official Turkish delegation discussed with Iranian officials in Tehran Sunday expansion of bilateral economic and industrial ties, reported Iran News Agency (IRNA).
During their meeting, Turkish undersecretary for foreign trade Kursad Tuzmen and minister of industries Gholam-Reza Shafei discussed also ways of creating joint investment opportunities, added the agency.
Tuzmen told the agency that production of vehicle parts, food industry technology, construction materials, petrochemicals and steel as potential areas of cooperation between the two countries' investors were also discussed.
He was quoted as saying that Turkish investors are interested in production of sugar, paper, and cement, which is abundantly produced in Iran and called for support of related investment schemes.
The Turkish undersecretary said Iran and Turkey can have more up to-date access to each other's bid offerings, so that, they can be better prepared for investment opportunities, IRNA added.
He further called for increasing joint activities in exhibitions, establishing an industrial and development bank, and closer cooperation between the two countries' institutes of standards - Albawaba.com
