Iranian Media Report Opposition Entry into Kabul
Iranian radio and television early Tuesday reported the entry of Afghan opposition forces into Kabul and said the Taliban militia were "leaving the city."
"The Northern Alliance forces have entered Kabul and the Taliban are leaving the city" in "long lines of vehicles", said Radio Iran which has correspondents on the spot.
Sporadic shooting could be heard in Kabul, the radio said, but it did not report any real clashes.
Iranian television interviewed one of the Northern Alliance fighters who said he was "very happy" with the situation.
The television showed pictures of the Afghan capital early Tuesday morning with practically no one on the streets -- AFP
