Iraqi PM opens historic Iran visit
Iraq's Prime Minister Ibrahim Jaafari was officially welcomed by Iran's first Vice-President Mohammad Reza Aref at Sa'ad abad Cultural Complex in Tehran on Saturday afternoon.
According to IRNA, the Iraqi leader arrived in Tehran at the head of a high ranking political and economic delegation, including several cabinet ministers.
Ibrahim Jaafari is scheduled to meet with Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, President Mohammad Khatami, President-Elect Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, First Vice-President Mohammad Reza Aref, Majlis Speaker Gholam Ali Haddad Adel, Chairman of Expediency Council Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani, Foreign Minister Kamal Kharrazi.
Iraqi prime minister and accompanying delegation arrived in Tehran on Saturday afternoon for a three-day official visit.
