Israeli Patrol Ambushed in Gaza Strip
A bomb exploded early Monday in the Gaza Strip as an Israeli army patrol was passing, a military spokesman said.
The jeep-mounted patrol also came under automatic weapons fire from an area under the control of the Palestinian Authority in the incident near the border with Egypt, the spokesman said.
No one was hurt and the patrol returned the fire.
Israeli troops and Palestinian police launched a hunt for the attackers, the spokesman said -- OCCUPIED JERUSALEM (AFP)
