Jordan’s King, US President to Discuss Middle East Peace Tuesday
Jordan’s King Abdullah II will hold talks in Washington with US President George W. Bush to discuss the Middle East peace, reported the official Petra news agency.
The Jordanian monarch will be the second Arab leader to meet with Bush, following a visit by Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak to Washington last week.
Sources told the agency that the meeting will focus on necessary steps to cease violence in the Palestinian lands and lifting the siege imposed on the Palestinian people, in addition to means of bringing the peace process back to its right track.
The king arrived in the US last week, and held talks with Secretary of State Collin Powell and other White House officials.
Petra added that the two leaders will also discuss mechanisms of enhancing bilateral relations development, particularly in the fields of economy and investment.
“But the most important topic will be the ratification of the FTA which Jordan and the US signed in November,” an official source told the agency.
