Jordanian Diplomat in Gaza Condemns Israeli Strike which Damaged Residence
Jordan's diplomatic representative to the Palestinian territories, Juma al-Abeidi, on Tuesday condemned Israel's air and sea blitz on the Gaza Strip, which damaged his official residence.
"We condemn and reject this aggression that targeted defenseless civilians," al-Abeidi told reporters.
He said a rocket fired on a Palestinian state security court building in Gaza City blew out the windows of his official residence and damaged its facade.
Al-Abeidi said Israel had violated international norms covering the protection of foreign diplomats.
Palestinians were sifting through the debris of their homes Tuesday following the heaviest bombardment Israel has unleashed on the Gaza Strip in seven weeks of deadly violence.
