Jordanian King To Perform Hajj
King Abdullah of Jordan is expected to leave for Saudi Arabia today to join millions of other Muslims in performing the annual Hajj, one of the five pillars of Islam.
The Jordan Times daily reports that this will be the first Hajj Abdullah performs since becoming king February 7, 1999. He will be accompanied on the pilgrimage by members of the Royal family, as well as Prime Minister Abdur-Ra'uf S. Rawabdeh, and Chief of the Royal Court Fayez Tarawneh.
He is scheduled to return to Jordan on Friday.
