Jordanian King, Yemeni President Pray in Mecca
King Abdullah of Jordan and President Ali Abdullah Saleh of Yemen performed the lesser, or umrah, pilgrimage to Mecca overnight, the official Saudi Press Agency said Thursday.
The two men separately visited the Grand Mosque in Mecca and the tomb of the prophet Mohammad in nearby Medina, in the west of the kingdom.
Leaders from the Moslem world traditionally flock to Mecca during the fasting month of Ramadan, which is due to end Tuesday -- MECCA, Saudi Arabia (AFP)
