Kerry says he's confident that foreign arms are going to Syrian moderates

US Secretary of State, John Kerry, said on Tuesday that he is confident that weapons sent to Syria are ending up in the hands of moderate fighters rather than extremist groups, Al Jazeera reported.
The new foreign affairs representative for the White House made his comments during a press conference with Qatari prime minister, Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jaber al-Thani, on his first tour to the Middle East since taking office in January.
Qatar and Saudi Arabia have both been criticized for sending weapons to opposition fighters. Syria's President Bashar al Assad said in an interview with the UK's Sunday Times last week that Kerry's first task should be to stop the movement of arms to "terrorists" in his country.
However, the U.S. has maintained their stance that President Assad must go and announced last week that they would send $60million in "non-lethal" aid to the rebels.
At the Doha conference, Kerry said Qatar and the US have helped Syria's opposition "build the unity and effectiveness that they need" to "change [Syrian] President [Bashar] Assad's calculation on the ground".
