Kharrazi: Lebanon is in Front Line against Israel
Iran's Foreign Minister Kamal Kharazi said Monday that Lebanon was in the front line against "the Israeli enemy," and called for more regional collaboration following the arrival in power of Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, reported AFP.
Kharazi was speaking on arrival at Beirut airport on the first leg of a tour which will also take him to Syria.
"Israel represents a great danger for the whole region and Lebanon is in the front line against the Israeli enemy, particularly in the current sensitive circumstances following the election of Sharon," he said.
"That is why there must be more coordination in the future between Islamic countries in the region," added Kharazi.
Kharazi said Iran called on next week's Arab summit in Amman "to take a firm and clear stance in the face of Israeli aggression and aid the Palestinian people to overcome the problems confronting them."
Kharazi will arrive in Syria on Tuesday, said the official SPA news agency.
He will meet with President Bashar Assad and other senior official, said SPA - Albawaba.com
