Kuwaiti Women Fight to Get Vote
Kuwait's court of appeal is due to begin hearing the cases on Monday of several women demanding their full political rights, reported the BBC.online.
Several women have filed complaints against the country's election law, which bans women from voting or standing for public office.
The court will have to decide whether the election laws violate Kuwait's 1962 constitution, which in theory gives equal rights to men and women, said the BBC.
Last year, members of Kuwait's Parliament, the only elected law-making body in the Gulf, narrowly defeated a bill that would have allowed women to stand for election, according to the BBC - Albawaba.com
