At Least Three Palestinians Killed, Several Injured in the West Bank
At least four Palestinians were killed and several injured Thursday in two different incidents in the West Bank.
In the West Bank city of Bethlehem, three police officers were killed, and twelve others were seriously injured in a blast at the Palestinian security headquarters in Bethlehem.
The building is the local base of Force-17, the security force charged with protecting Palestinian President Yasser Arafat.
In the West Bank city of Nablus, a Palestinian man was killed in a village by Jewish settlers, reported AFP.
Fathi Al-Ardah was fatally wounded when about ten settlers opened fire on Palestinians in the village of Askar near the flash point city, said the agency.
It added that two other Palestinians, one a policeman, were injured in the incident, witnesses said, noting that Palestinians returned fire.
The Jerusalem Post newspaper reported that a rescue helicopter and two combat helicopters were overflying Nablus, attempting to airlifeat four Israeli settlers injured in an attack on an Israeli bus near the town.
The paper said that there have been heavy exchanges of gunfire between Israeli forces, Jewish settlers and Palestinians in the area -- (Several Sources)
