Lebanese Premier to meet Int’l Monetary Fund Director in Washington for talks
Lebanese Prime Minister Rafiq Hariri is expected to travel this Sunday to the US capital for talks with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) over an upcoming Donors conference in France to strengthen the ailing Lebanese economy, officials said Wednesday.
"Hariri will travel to Washington on November 3 to meet with IMF Executive Director Horst Kohler," Hariri's office said in a statement, carried by AFP.
"The visit is within Hariri's tour of the donor countries and institutions that will participate in the Paris II conference" set to be held at the end of next month in Paris, it said.
Hariri will be accompanied by Finance Minister Fouad Siniora, Economy Minister Bassel Fleihan and Central Bank Governor Riad Salameh, the statement added. (Albawaba.com)
