Kidnapped Omanis released in Lebanon
Lebanon's Foreign Ministry announced Sunday that two Omani citizens who were kidnapped in eastern Lebanon earlier this week have been freed, according to Agence France-Presse.
The Ministry released a statement that ensured that the two Omanis were "safe and well at the Omani embassy in Beirut," but the report did not provide further information about their release.
The pair had previously been abducted on Thursday in Lebanon's Baalbek region. According to Lebanon's Al Nahar newspaper, five gunmen took the two Omanis hostage at a roadblock in a village near the city of Baalbek. Police raids over the weekend ensured the release of the pair according to the same source.
