Lebanese Speaker of the Parliament, Nabih Berri has stated that firing rockets into Israel does not serve the Palestinian cause and is an unwanted attempt to involve Lebanon in the current conflict in the Gaza Strip.
Seven Hezbollah and 32 Syrian rebels died, whilst 50 were wounded in clashes on the Syria-Lebanon border that occurred on Saturday and Sunday.
The United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) has described the firing of rockets from Southern Lebanon into northern Israel on Sunday night a “serious violation of U.N. Security Council resolution 1701.”
