LG honours winners of its online promotional campaign
Global and regional digital leader LG Electronics recently held a prize distribution ceremony at its LG Digital Centre in Dubai for the winners of its interactive online campaign ‘Celebrate this month of Festivals with LG’ dedicated to regional consumers.
The campaign was successfully conducted by LG Electronics in collaboration with several social networking websites such as Facebook, Yahoo, MSN Messenger, Khaleej Times, Gulf News, Maktoob.com and Maktoob mobile pages.
Social networking websites are growing at a rapid pace in a world that is increasingly turning towards digital media. LG is building on this emerging phenomenon by making the campaign fun and interactive while stimulating interaction among its consumers.
“We are aiming at expanding our consumers’ network and better familiarising people of all ages and sectors about our brand and products. Such activities highlight the commitment of LG towards its consumers and their needs,” said Mr. H.S. Paik, President of LG Electronics Gulf. “We are witnessing an increasing number of registrations every time we run such a campaign which shows people’s direction to digital media and their enthusiasm for digital information.”
The competition was aimed at new registrations as well as old subscribers and consumers could participate by registering and participating in the ‘Quiz Competition’ on the B2C website for the IT competition and on the GSM website, for the GSM mobile phone competition.
One lucky consumer Mr. Ibrahim Nehmtallah remarkably won two prizes, an LG projector and a Renoir mobile Phone. “I was glad to receive these generous gifts from LG. The phone is amazing with many new features. It has almost anything you can think of, and I was especially delighted with its 8-megapixel camera, and its superb sound quality,” commented Mr. Nehmtallah. “The projector is also very handy and small in size without compromising its quality. I am happy to have won the latest LG technology. I want to thank LG once more for these New Year’s gifts.”
More than 54,000 visitors had visited the websites during the campaign. While around 1,300 participants registered themselves for the competitions, which is one of the highest numbers of registration throughout 2008. A total of 18 prizes were distributed to the winners. The prizes for the campaign included 5 projectors (HS102), 5 external hard drives, 3 Renoir (KC910) mobile phones and 5 Cookie (KP500) mobile phones.
“The online promotions were great and the site for inquiries on products is user friendly,” said Jennet Rozul, one of this campaign’s winners. “The gift I won is amazing and I am very happy with it. I show it to my friends and colleagues and advise them to participate in your campaigns as the prizes are really wonderful.”
“I would like to thank LG for this lovely projector that I have won,” commented Ahmed Salim, another lucky customer who won an HS102 projector. “I never thought I would need one, but I suddenly seem to find a lot of usage for it in my presentations and realised what I was missing out on.”
