Libyan Leader to Visit Burkina Faso
Libyan leader Moamer Kadhafi is to arrive in Burkina Faso on Tuesday for a three-day visit, officials said.
Kadhafi, currently on a visit to Niger, will be welcomed by President Blaise Campaore at the frontier town of Kantchari, 400 kilometers (250 miles) east of Ouagadougou.
The two heads of state will travel by road to Ouagadougou where the Libyan leader is scheduled to make a public address Wednesday at the August 4 stadium.
On Thursday, Kadhafi will visit Campaore's family home at Ziniare, 30 kilometers (20 miles) east of the capital before heading to the border with Benin and the hunting station of Yeryanga, 290 kilometers (180 miles) south east of Ouagadougou.
From there, the Libyan leader will visit Benin.
Libya is an important donor for Burkina Faso and is also the main shareholder in the Commercial Bank of Burkina (BCB), with 50 percent of the holding --OUAGADOUGOU (AFP)
