MAF Properties looks forward to retail windfall as a key sponsor of ‘Eid in Dubai’
Majid Al Futtaim Properties, with Mall of the Emirates, Deira City Centre and Mirdif City Centre under it, is looking forward to 'Eid in Dubai' as a key sponsor of the event for the first time. In an interview conducted by the Dubai Events and Promotions Establishment media centre, Yousif Al Ali, Vice President of Mirdif City Centre, says the three malls are ready to welcome families and shoppers for a unique experience of shopping, entertainment, and of course, Eid.
Is this the first time you have sponsored Eid in Dubai?
It is a great pleasure for us to partner with DEPE for 'Eid in Dubai'. Majid Al Futtaim Properties has been part of Eid festivities in Dubai since the event's inception, with Mall of the Emirates and Deira City Centre taking part in the festivities with promotions and activities but this is the first time that MAF Properties has come on board as a key sponsor.
How important is it to sponsor such an event?
Eid is a very important time of year for all our customers, and we aim to add to the spirit of this special occasion for guests from far and wide, with an array of entertainment and activities for all to enjoy.
What benefits do the shopping malls and other parties get from organizing these events?
Being aligned with the Dubai Events and Promotions Establishment is a great honour, and working with them to develop this great line up of events will certainly add to our mall shopping experience and to the festivities for those celebrating Eid.
What activities will you organize or host during Eid?
Mall of the Emirates will welcome roaming characters, parades and the Barney Show to entertain their guests.
Mirdif City Centre will welcome exclusive live mini shows of the popular Freej TV series from September 9 to 13, as well as Ben Ten and Hello Kitty acts taking place from September 10 to 12, with all entertainment & performances happening in the Mall's Central Galleria area.
Deira City Centre is hosting a special Ramadan and Eid tent in the mall's Centre Stage, where they serve traditional coffee and dates to all shoppers, in addition to exhibiting important symbols of Arabic culture. The mall will also have an Eid Carnival Parade, in addition to a range of other fun activities held in conjunction with DEPE.
How was the impact of promotions during Ramadan on your sales?
Promotions play an important part of our shopping experience. As a traditional time for giving and gifting, our retailers' Ramadan promotions and mall events were of great benefit to all our customers and have had a positive effect on the sales at the three malls.
What are your expectations in terms of footfall during Eid for the shopping malls under Majid Al Futtaim Properties?
Traditionally, Eid is a busy period for shopping malls. With the great promotions offered by our amazing line up of retailers and our in-mall entertainment this year, we expect to build on this success and welcome residents and tourists alike to our three malls to celebrate this special time of year.
