Mayor of Amman: Rehabilitation of Jabal Al Qal'aa Makes Amman City More Beautiful
Mayor of Amman, Omar Maani, said that the completion of Jabal Al Qal'aa development project contributed to the beauty of Amman city, since it added to the place a great view without any visual blockage, thus adding an important element to upgrade and develop the city center.
During a program "With the Mayor" broadcasted once every two weeks and presented by Rosine Al Naber, the Mayor reiterated Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) decision to increase the green space inside and around the city center under the umbrella of the urban planting project.
The mayor added that GAM is studying a project to install drains to water planted areas to be on the safe side in any potential challenges.
He also mentioned that GAM cadres recently handled the complaints received in the previous encounter, such as enhancing supervision on street vendors' gatherings in front of Fatima Al Zahra'a mosque in Marka, and removing the middle island in Al Bayer neighborhood in Al Qweismeh region, which was causing traffic jams.
He referred to a study to be conducted on erecting a retaining wall in Marj Al Hamam region this year, since this project was approved by the local committee and it will put an end to water gatherings and soil erosion in Jordan Street.
The Mayor starts the program with the notes raised by the citizens and immediately address them through GAM cadres; and in response to one of their demands, he called on the cadres to install road bumps at the entrance of Al Yadodeh, especially the road branching from Madaba main street, and he requested to study constructing a pedestrians' bridge or tunnel next to the entrance and exit of Al Jomrok tunnel.
During the program, the mayor received complements for the completion of Jabal Al Qal'aa development project, and for the immediate response to the citizens' demands and issues, like following up on the hole of one of the hotels in the east of Sweileh, and installing warning signs that helped reduce traffic issues close to Al Yarmouk region.
Omar Maani promised to observe some of Al Wakalat street issues, and to make a field tour in the street within this week.
