Microsoft Jordan Launches Office 2010 and SharePoint 2010 in Jordan
Under the Patronage of Marwan Jumaa, Minister of Information and Communications Technology (MoICT), Microsoft Jordan held the official launch event for the company’s next wave of business productivity solutions including Office 2010, SharePoint 2010 and Exchange Server 2010, at the Sheraton Hotel Amman that was attended by over 250 members of Jordan’s leading business and ICT community.
Microsoft Jordan’s Country Manager Mrs. Rula Ammuri delivered a keynote presentation on Microsoft’s next generation business software which provides the best productivity tools across the PC, phone and browser. The products released have been specifically developed to meet the changing requirements of customers enabling increased collaboration, mobility and secure access to data.
In the presence of Mr. Nader Thunaibat, Head of the e-Government program, representing Marwan Juma, and an audience of Jordan’s ICT and business community, Microsoft Jordan representatives demonstrated the latest capabilities and features of Microsoft’s next wave of business productivity tools with special attention given to Office 2010, Microsoft’s most significant release in a decade and market leading business software that will help businesses save money, innovate and deliver sustainable growth.
According to Ammuri, Office 2010 meets the demands of people and businesses for tools that will support a more mobile lifestyle, equipping users with tools that embrace mobile work options and social networking, as well as providing applications that facilitate effective collaboration regardless of location.
The new capabilities will also enable people to bring their ideas to life by easily expressing their creativity using text, videos or images, while the improved business intelligence solutions will enable users in every part of an organisation to quickly turn data into information that they can use to make competitive decisions for their businesses.
Office 2010 is designed to leverage the best of the traditional software environment, giving users the reassurance they need in terms of maintaining control of their data and being able to develop and edit documents on the move, while also taking advantage of the benefits that cloud computing offers in terms of collaboration, communication and the flexibility to manage information regardless of deployment model. Through cloud computing services, Office 2010 allows people to be productive working at home, at a customer site, on an airplane or even without a PC as users will be able to access their documents through a wide range of devices.
The launch event also included a customer testimonial from the Nuqul Group who demonstrated the benefits the group have already witnessed as one of only 30 companies worldwide to be selected by Microsoft to be part of the Rapid Deployment Program (RDP) for Office 2010.
A number of other Microsoft Jordan representatives also demonstrated the capabilities of the various other products included within the Wave 14 launch including SharePoint 2010, Exchange Server 2010, and Project 2010.
