Middle East Enters ‘New Era in Sexual Health’
Medically-prescribed drug treatments for erectile dysfunction can have a significant impact on the lives of men who suffer from erectile dysfunction (ED), as well as their partners, the world’s top medical doctor for human sexuality said today.
With an estimated one in ten men in the Middle East suffering from ED, the region’s medical community is keen to hear new research findings from the world’s top human sexuality doctor.
“The Middle East is entering a new era of sexual health,” said Dr. John Dean, who is visiting the region this week to speak with its medical community. “Couples are no longer satisfied to merely spend intimate time together; they now link sexual performance with confidence, and confidence with an increasingly positive mood toward life in general.
“As medical doctors, we have an obligation to treat patients we know we can help through regulated medication. In this regard, we know that Viagra is a proven and effective treatment for ED, so I encourage physicians around the world to prescribe it to patients who can clearly benefit from its use,” concluded Dean.
While the experts cite anxiety, stress, tiredness, illness and heightened alcohol consumption as common causes for ED, the solutions offered for the condition tend to be both varied and complicated.
Dr. Dean adds that sufferers are all too often bewildered – or even afraid – of admitting to suffering from ED, and he has therefore made it his mission to remove this stigma by offering user-friendly and comprehensive advice to men throughout the world.
“Since the drug was launched in the region, Viagra has dramatically changed men’s – and women’s – attitudes toward sexual performance, and has changed the way sexual dysfunction is viewed, discussed, and treated throughout the entire region,” commented Dr. Mohamed Khalifa of Pfizer Middle East.
