Mohamed Serghini winner of international 'Argana' prize
Famous Moroccan poet Mohammed Serghini will be given the international “Argana” price for his contribution to the modernization of Moroccan poetry. The date and the place of the award ceremony will be notified in the near future according to an official statement by the House of Poetry in Morocco.
<i>Emarrakech</i> reports that Serghini also took part in the Poetry Festival that was held in Fès and Meknès and in the international Festival of poetry in Casablanca on March 21. Serghini is the author of several collections such as "Wa Yakoun Ihraqou Asmaehi Alatiya" (And we burn with his following words), "Bahhar Jabal Qaf" (the sailor of Jabal Qaf) and the novel "Wajadtouka Fi hada Alarkhabil" (I found you in this archipelago). Serghini also collaborated with the Spanish poet Trina Mercader in the publication of the literary magazine "Al Mouâtamid" between 1947 and 1956.
