Moscow Cold Claims 78 Lives
Three people died in Moscow over the past 24 hours from hypothermia and another 30 required hospital treatment, RIA-Novosti cited the city's emergencies ministry as saying Friday.
The latest fatalities brought the death toll from hypothermia this winter season to 78.
Dozens of people, most of them homeless, die from cold weather in the Russian capital each winter, primarily because there are few emergency shelters for them -- MOSCOW (AFP)
