Municipal elections held in Kuwait
Kuwaiti men went to the polling stations on Thursday to elect 10 municipal council members. Six other members are to be appointed by the Kuwaiti cabinet. All in all, 54 candidates competed for the 10 elected seats. According to Kuna, the previous council elections were held on June 9, 1999 with 61.3 percent of eligible voters participating in the electoral process.
