NBK announces successful conclusion of Iftar Banquets Campaign
National Bank of Kuwait (NBK), the leading bank in Kuwait and the highest rated in the Middle East, announced the successful conclusion of the philanthropic Ramadan campaign which comprised the hosting of mass Iftar banquets in two large tents in addition to distributing Iftar meals to fasters at various masques and crowded areas in Kuwait. Iftar Banquets campaign, which has become a tradition observed annually by NBK throughout the last 17 years, had set a new record number this year with more than 150,000 Iftar meals being distributed during the holy month of Ramadan.
Commenting on the occasion, NBK Public Relations Officer Talal Al-Turki said NBK's Iftar Banquets, which comes within a well-mapped social program that comprises a multitude of philanthropic activities, was received this year with remarkable participation on the part of fasters who flooded the two main tents located near the Grand Mosque in Sharq area and next to Salmiya Cinema NBK branch in addition to the record number of Iftar meals that have been distributed at week-ends to fasters at various mosques and crowded areas in Kuwait via special convoys and under the supervision of tens of NBK staff volunteers.
Al-Turki, who, earlier this month, had accompanied a high ranking team of NBK officials in several tours to the Iftar Banquest lacations, added that NBK's Ramadan Banquets campaign represents a new concept of the private sector humanitarian and philanthropic involvement and has become one of the main pillars of NBK's corporate social responsibility endeavor.
In addition to hosting Iftar Banquets, NBK's Ramadan social program also features a host of charitable, philanthropic and benevolent activities that include providing financial and moral support for the various institutions along with conducting regular visits to the underprivileged communities such as elders, orphans, special needs people and patients children residing at NBK Hospital, in addition to organizing Gergaian for kids at NBK branches.
