National Bank of Kuwait (NBK), the leading bank in Kuwait and the highest rated in the Middle East recently purchased few of Basma Mosaed Al Saeed’s artwork to hang at it’s NBK hospital for kids. The purchases of her artwork went to Bayt Abdulla Children’s Hospice.
This scenario would seem rather commonplace except for the fact that Basma is a visually challenged 11 year old girl, who is remarkably talented. The art she creates is a translation of her own perception of things which distinctly resembles real objects, which she sculpts onto canvas and paints.
Ebtihaj Al Roomi and Manal Al Mattar from NBK’s Management team personally went to congratulate Basma Al Saeed on her art and creativity. “We are proud to have one of our own Zeina account holders with so much talent achieve the success that Basma has achieved today” stated Ebtihaj Al Roomi.
Her father states that she does not only create art, but also has acting and music in her blood, and has already been featured in more than one Local stage production. Basma was recently invited on Al Rai TV to recite poetry and has exhibited her artwork at the Avenues “Shaghaf” exhibition. She has worked closely with The Society of the Blind and Ministry of Education.
Manal Al Mattar added “Basma’s contribution to Bayt Abdulla certainly hasn’t gone unnoticed by NBK who is proud to support Kuwait’s youth culture and taking a great responsibility of helping the Kuwaiti Community in their strife to improve society. NBK wishes Basma more success in the future and praises her for her talent and generosity”.
