Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu spoke with Public Security Minister Yitzhak Aharonovitch on Wednesday and asked that law-enforcement elements work as quickly as possible in order to investigate who is behind the reprehensible murder and what the motive was.
In the public statement the Prime Minister called on all sides not to take the law into their own hands and noted that Israel is a nation of laws and everyone must act according to the law.
The body an Arab youth was found in the Jerusalem Forest near a gas station on Wednesday morning. Palestinians believe the slain body to be that of a Palestinian youth who was reported kidnapped from Beit Hanina the night before. Police said that they were yet to determine whether the boy's killing was nationalistic or criminal in nature, but the rioters believe he was killed by Israelis as revenge for the kidnap and murder of three Israeli teens.
