New Coach for Moroccan Football Team
Following its limp performance during the recent Africa Nations Cup 2000, the Moroccan football Association decided to pin its hopes on a new successful coach.
The French (and former Polish) Henryk Kasperczak will replace the stumbling Frenchman Henri Michel. Kasparczeck boast some important achievements as the former coach of neighboring Tunisia.
His stint in Tunisia lasted 4 years (1994-98), during which he coached the team to the finals of the 1996 Africa Nations Cup (lost 0-2 to the host South Africa). Also under his guidance, the team qualified to the 1996 Atlanta Olympic games and the 1998 Africa Nations Cup (1/4 finals). His most important achievement was to lead Tunisia to the 1998 World Cup in France.
His tasks now are to head Morocco to the 2002 World Cup and the Africa Nations Cup on the same year to be held in Mali.
