New round of national talks end with no agreement on Hizbullah arms
Lebanon's political groups on Tuesday resumed national reconciliation talks and Hizbullah's arms were a main topic on the agenda. 18 leaders of the various factions were meeting at the presidential palace for the talks headed by President Michel Suleiman. The dialogue is part of a peace deal reached in Qatar in May 2008.
The last session was held before parliament elections in June.
So far the factions made no progress on a defense strategy that would eventually integrate Hizbullah's weapons into the Lebanese armed forces. Tuesday talks were also ended with no agreement and the next dialogue session was set for April 15.
