Oman Pledges Support for OPEC Moves on Long-Term Price Stability
Oman will support any OPEC moves to ensure long-term stability in oil prices on the world market, Oil Minister Mohammad bin Hamad al-Romhi vowed on Saturday.
"The main aim is market stability. That is also the aim of OPEC, and that's why we would support any decision taken by the cartel aimed at stabilizing prices in the long term," he said in an interview with Al-Watan newspaper.
"Our aim as an oil-producer is stability of prices on the international market," said Romhi, whose non-OPEC country coordinates closely with the cartel.
But last month, Salim bin Mohammad Shaaban, undersecretary at the oil and gas ministry, said Oman would not be able to support OPEC's decision of June 21st to raise output from the start of July due to "technical reasons".
