One Iraqi Killed, Two Wounded in US, British Raid
An Iraqi civilian was killed and two wounded Friday in air raids by US and British fighters over southern Iraq, a military spokesman said.
The raids targeted "civilian installations" in the south of the country, according to the spokesman, quoted by the official INA news agency.
There have been almost daily incidents pitting Iraqi air defense against US and British planes patrolling the no-fly zones imposed by London and Washington after the Gulf War in 1991 in the north and south of the country.
Iraq does not recognize the zones, which do not have the backing of UN resolutions.
According to Baghdad, the raids have left 317 dead and 954 injured -- BAGHDAD (AFP)
