Over 4.5 million visitors browsed the UAE official website, UAE Interact, in the first six months of the year, reported the official Emirati news agency, WAM.
According to the latest statistics, 4,554,000 visitors from 130 countries around the world surfed the website in the first half of 2001, with April taking the lion's share of 700,133 visitors due to the beginning of tourism and vacation season.
The website, run by the ministry of information and culture, is currently undergoing major development, ordered by the minister, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The goal of the development plan is to offer rich and constantly updated information, statistics and photos about the country, said the agency.
According to WAM, the ministry has allowed millions of surfers to take a virtual tour of the 8 kilometer-Abu Dhabi corniche and city attractions by fixing cameras on various parts of the corniche – Albawaba.com
