Luxury Swiss watch maker Parmigiani Fleurier reinforces its close association with the world of music, fine arts and culture, by continuing its partnership with the 44th edition of the Montreux Jazz Festival, which recently concluded in the Swiss resort town.

Parmigiani have been associated with the event which is one of the world’s leading music festivals since 2005. Since then the partnership has blossomed with the watch maker being one of the major partners of the event and sponsors of the famed Montreux Jazz Cafes around the world.

Already renowned for the variety and quality of the performers represented, this year’s festival, which has transcended the realms of pure jazz and now encompasses rock, folk, world, gospel etc., has attracted the likes of Phil Collins, Norah Jones, Missy Elliot, Mark Knopfler, Herbie Hancock, Quincy Jones, Simple Red and Dian Krall just to name a few.

'The festival has gone from strength to strength in the last five years,” said Parmigiani CEO, Jean-Marc Jacot. “In terms of both its programme, which has been much more consistent in its choice of headline acts, and its luxury areas reserved for the main sponsors, the Montreux Jazz Festival has demonstrated a genuine desire to distance itself from other more provincial festivals. This is great for the brand!"

The grand tradition of selected artistes being presented with exclusive Parmigiani watches by festival director Claude Nobs will continue this year. Parmigiani are proud to present the tailor-made Kalpa Grande and XLF MJF 2010 Special Edition watches meant exclusively for the festival headliners.

The Kalpa Grande MJF 2010 automatic in steel features a free interpretation of the work of Romero Britto, designer of the 2010 festival poster. Its highly feminine champagne dial includes hour, minute and central seconds indicators.

Kalpa XL MJF 2010 automatic in steel features a free interpretation of the work of Romero Britto, designer of the 2010 festival poster. The abyss blue dial and XL size make this a very masculine model, which includes hour, minute and central seconds’ indicators.
