United Development Company (UDC), one of Qatar's leading public shareholding companies, picked up the awards for Best Retail Development and Best Architecture (Retail), at the 2010 Arabian Property Awards which is run in association with Bloomberg TV. The awards were presented to The Pearl-Qatar, UDC's flagship development, at a gala dinner at the Madinat Jumeirah, Dubai, held on the 26th October. The event is part of the International Property Awards, the world's most prestigious competition dedicated to finding the best real estate professionals across the globe.

A representative of UDC and The Pearl-Qatar accepting the award said:

"It is an honour to pick-up these awards on behalf of the UDC family and all our colleagues at The Pearl-Qatar. Working on this project we are proud and know that we are part of a unique and exceptional development which is setting new standards in terms of design and quality. This is possible following the vision of His Highness the Emir Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani and only due to the dedication of the many people involved in building this destination – The Pearl-Qatar. Everyone in the UDC family is excited to receive these awards and to be part of this prestigious event."

Later this year, top scoring winners from the Arabian Property Awards will compete against other winning companies from Europe, Africa, the UK, the Americas and Asia Pacific to find the ultimate World's Best in each category.
