PEPSICO Launches ‘Build Your City A Pitch’ Initiative With Partnership With The Association of Neighborhood Centers
PepsiCo international has launched a national initiative to further develop the sport of football in the kingdom and support Saudi youth by enhancing their football experience. Supported by the Association of Neighborhood Centers, the “Build Your City a Pitch” initiative is an aspiring project to re-build football facilities in different districts in order to serve the community and to develop the basis of the most popular sport in the Kingdom.
PepsiCo is launching this new initiative in cooperation with Saudi football star Hamza Idriss who praised PepsiCo’s direction in supporting the community seeing a much more active role of Saudi companies to support the youth and sports.
To promote the “Build Your City a Pitch” initiative PepsiCo launched a limited number of unique Pepsi cans carrying four international Pepsi stars and will allocate part of its sales revenues to re-build and develop football pitches in the various neighborhoods across the Kingdom.
Commenting on the initiative, Hossam Dabbous, GCCI Beverages Director at PepsiCo International, said: “Pepsi has always been a pioneer of supporting youth and sporting activities in the Kingdom and this unique initiative demonstrates our leadership and commitment to being part of the community, especially since we are joined by Hamza Idriss, the legendary Saudi player who carries the title of The World's Third Goal Scorer, will play a key role in raising awareness of this initiative.”
Dabbous continued,: “Young Saudis have tremendous passion for football and PepsiCo is totally committed to aiding and supporting them to achieve their football expectations locally and regionally,. In respect of this, we are very serious about raising the standards of football facilities across the Kingdom and with the participation of the Association of Neighborhood Centers we are confident that the public will give wholehearted support for “Build Your City a Pitch” campaign.”
Adding his comments, Hamza Idriss praised the continuous efforts of PepsiCo in supporting Saudi football, which is reflected by many initiatives the multinational has launched with the participation of thousands of young people who aspire to playing their favorite sport professionally. Idriss went on to call on all supporting sectors and the public to adopt local talent and provide them with the opportunity to play football in a properly equipped sports environment.
“Build Your City a Pitch” is the latest initiative in PepsiCo’s ongoing efforts to prepare a future generation of talented local football players and assist them in developing their talents. PepsiCo International is fully committed to develop this beautiful sport in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Gulf in general with the aim to mature and develop future international stars.
