Play 99.6 hunts down two mysterious local talents

Play 99.6  posted on their website a well choreograph home video of two urban youth dancing to a classic Michael Jackson song that recently hit the viral video website, YouTube .Play 99.6 is offering a JD 1,000 cash reward for information leading to the two young stars.

The station, which prides itself on supporting local talent, wants to help the dancers hone in on their skills and get more recognition for their talent.

Zafer Younis, Play 99.6’s General Manager said: “Since the launch of Play 99.6, we have undertaken several initiatives to discover and support local talents within our utmost potential.” He added: “We strongly believe in the talent and potential of Jordanian youth, and strive to have a key role in flourishing these talents on both a national and international level”.

The video, which can be seen on Play’s YouTube site: www.youtube.com/play996 promises a JD 1,000 reward to the person who can identify the dancers.

It is worth mentioning that Play 99.6 launched a first-of-its-kind ‘Local Talent Search’ competition back in 2008, which aimed at discovering talents (artists, bands, musicians, and photographers) and helping them become stars.

Play 99.6 was founded in 2004, and is part of the Modern Media Company, which also owns Sunny FM. According to Ipsos Stat, Play 99.6 has the widest reach of English radio stations in Jordan. The station has also won international recognition by the National Association of Broadcasters, and the NAB International Broadcasting Excellence Award.
