The Ritz-Carlton, Cancun and Its Two Fine Dining Restaurants Each Win Coveted AAA Five Diamond Award
The Ritz-Carlton, Cancun has received for 2008 an impressive Triple Five Diamond rating for the resort and for its two fine dining restaurants Fantino and The Club Grill. The hotel is the only oceanfront resort in USA, Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean that achieved these remarkable results.
The AAA Five Diamond Award is the most coveted symbol of excellence for lodging and restaurants, and is presented only to those establishments that consistently reflect the characteristics of ultimate luxury and sophistication.
"The Ritz-Carlton, Cancun is the only hotel of the 32,000 hotels rated by AAA in North America in 2008 to achieve the Five Diamond Award with two of their own managed restaurants rated separately with Five Diamonds. To reach and maintain this level of service is a very rare and extraordinary accomplishment, and AAA is pleased to honor The Ritz-Carlton, Cancun as the highest rated hotel in North America," said Tony Perrone, Manager of AAA National Headquarters for Mexico.
AAA employs 65 full-time inspectors to rate hotels and restaurants in the USA, Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean. They arrive at properties unannounced and look at service levels, amenities and ambience, awarding from one to five diamonds. Representing the elite of the hospitality industry, AAA Five Diamond Award® winners make up just 0.27% of the 60,000 rated establishments.
"These prestigious awards are a tribute to the genuine hospitality and passion for service of our 740 ladies and gentlemen. This recognition truly inspires us to keep creating personalized experiences for all our guests who year after year select our resort," mentioned Hermann Elger, general manager of the hotel.
Executive Chef Rainer Zinngrebe and Director of Food and Beverage Michael Nather orchestrate the culinary operation of the two Five Diamond restaurants. The Club Grill features international cuisine in an elegant English Club atmosphere while Fantino offers Mediterranean cuisine in a classical European ambiance complemented by expansive views of the ocean. "We are thrilled to have achieved this top honor and to be able to offer to our guests the most prestigious restaurants in the country, only a few meters from each other," added Michael.
