Russian President Returns to Moscow after Cuba Visit
Russian President Vladimir Putin returned to Moscow on Wednesday after a week-long tour that took him to Cuba and Canada, ITAR-TASS reported.
Putin was the first post-Soviet era leader to visit Cuba, but his two-day trip was suprisingly low-key and leader Fidel Castro was reported to be disappointed by the lack of financial aid coming from the Kremlin.
The Russian president's visit to Canada focused on strategic stability and Putin reiterated his opposition to the nuclear missile shield the United States wants to build to protect itself from "rogue states" like North Korea or Iran -- MOSCOW (AFP)
