Saudi source denies media reports about moving military forces to border with Jordan
The Saudi TV quoted Tuesday night “a responsible source” at the kingdom’s defense and aviation ministry saying that units from the Saudi armed forces are currently conducting routine exercises in the northwestern region. The source denied media reports that the Saudi armed forces in the northwestern region have been beefed up.
The source added that these “exercises are part of the scheduled military exercises, which are conducted by all the branches of the Saudi Armed Forces throughout the year in all military regions.”
Earlier, news agencies have reported that Saudi Arabia massed at least eight brigades on its border with Jordan following secret intelligence reports that Israel has massed forces along its border with Jordan. Israel denied these claims. (Albawaba.com)
