Schwarzenegger Will Be Back in "Terminator 3"
According to Hollywood Online, the action star officially committed to reprise his role as the cyborg in Terminator 3, the third installment of the blockbuster sci-fi franchise for producers Andy Vajna and Mario Kassar and their newly formed film company C-2 Pictures. The project, one of the first productions from C-2, headed by former Carolco Pictures principals Vajna and Kassar, is scheduled to start shooting in Los Angeles in spring 2001. Schwarzenegger has previously said he wouldn’t dare do another Terminator film without the direction of self proclaimed “King of the World” director James Cameron and Cameron has been less than enthusiastic about doing T3.
Now the question is, will Arnold be able to get James Cameron to hop onboard this potential blockbuster?
So, is Cameron on board or not? In a recent interview with Access Hollywood, Schwarzenegger said he hopes Cameron will also catch T3 fever but that neither script nor director has been set yet.
“A script is being written as we speak and it’s a film that Jim will definitely produce,” the muscle-bound actor says. “If he will direct it or not, I don’t know yet because he never makes up his mind until the script is all done and perfect.”
Let’s keep our fingers crossed for a “perfect” script, shall we?
“We’ll make an announcement soon,” Schwarzenegger told Access Hollywood, promising more details.
In the meantime, we can only speculate whether we’ll see the return of Sarah Connor, played by Linda Hamilton (whose ugly divorce from Cameron might put a damper on a cinematic reunion) in the first two films. And what about Edward Furlong and Michael Biehn?
Schwarzenegger says he and Cameron have already committed to the long-in-the-works sequel to another joint project, True Lies--Albawaba(Various Sources)
