Syrian PM in Beirut, calls for dialogue with the US
Syria's Prime Minister Mohammad Naji Ottri has asserted that Syria remains committed to the policy of dialogue with the United States on all issues. "Syria relays on dialogue as a means for understanding and tackling all issues of the region." Ottri said in a statement upon arrival to Beirut on Monday morning.
On the situation in Iraq, Ottri renewed Syria’s keenness on Iraq’s unity, security and stability stressing the Iraqi people’s right to manage his affairs and determine his political future by himself.
"The visit comes in the frame work of meetings of the Syrian-Lebanese Social Economic Committee for discussing various fields of cooperation and integration and pushing the developed Syrian-Lebanese relations forward." Otrri said, according to SANA.
Ottri and his Lebanese counterpart Omar Krami discussed the existing bilateral relations and ways for supporting and developing them in all domains in addition to agenda of the Syrian-Lebanese Social Economic Committee.
Ottri arrived in Beirut Monday morning on an official visit where he will chair the Syria delegation to the committee meetings.
