Syrian President hails Palestinian attacks against Israel
Syrian President, Bashar al-Assad, applauded Palestinian attacks against Israel, on a holiday commemorating the deaths of Syrian soldiers.
"This year, the holiday takes on a special meaning because of the events in Palestine where the (Palestinians') heroic operations have shaken the Israeli occupier," Assad said in a speech to the sons of Syrian soldiers killed in battle, quoted by the SANA news agency.
Assad also invoked "the martyrs" of the West Bank's Jenin refugee camp which the Israeli army invaded in last month's invasion of the West Bank.
"Israel has killed civilians in a small camp and destroyed the homes there," Assad said. (Albawaba.com)
