Kerry: U.S. considering airstrikes in Iraq
U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry said Monday that the U.S. is considering air strikes to help the Iraqi government, Reuters reports.
“They’re not the whole answer, but they may well be one of the options that are important,” Kerry said in a recent interview.
“When you have people murdering, assassinating in these mass massacres you have to stop that. And you do what you need to do if you need to try to stop if from the air or otherwise,” he added.
According to Reuters, Kerry also said the U.S. is open to engaging in talks with Iran over how to best defeat ISIL in Iraq.
