UAE Banks' Balance Sheet Shows Growth in First Quarter
The aggregated balance sheet of banks in the UAE has grown during the first quarter of 2001, reflecting the buoyancy in the country's banking sector, according to a statistical bulletin put out by the Central Bank, cited by Gulf News.
The aggregated balance sheet of banks rose Dh2.12 billion (0.8 per cent) during the first quarter to Dh279.22 billion (against Dh277.1 billion by the end of the fourth quarter of 2000, the report said (each Dh=0.27) -- Albawaba.com
