UAE Dispatches Relief Aids to Afghan Refugees in Iran
The first of four planes carrying relief for Afghan refugees in Iran aid will left on Monday the United Arab Emirates for the Islamic Republic with 40 tons of supplies. The other three planes will follow in the next few days, the Emirati official news agency (WAM) reported.
The relief substances including 200 tons of foods, medicines and other items will be shipped to Iran to alleviate the suffering of the Afghan refugees.
These aids come as part of the emergency relief program which the UAE government upon instructions from Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan pledged to offer to 40,000 Afghan refugees.
Ittihad daily said that the first shipment will be accompanied by a delegation from the Emirati Red Crescent Association headed by Khalifa Naser Al Suwaidi, the association head and Saleh Mousa Al Taei, director of Foreign Relief and Projects. The plane will land in the airport of the Iranian City of Mashhad, added the daily – Albawaba.com
